The distro was called "As The World Burns" before Arcade Distro, and it was run by 3 kids: Brea, Catherine, and Zane (Brea and Zane are brother and sister). They ran it first out of Marshall, Texas, and then Austin. It was passed down to a girl named Jessica around 2003. The former owners made her promise never to let the distro die. When I met Jessica while volunteering at Monkey Wrench Books in Austin, Arcade Distro had been on hiatus for over a year, so she was looking for someone to pass it on to. I offered to take over the distro when I moved back to Houston in 2007, so Jessica passed along the stock to me, on the condition that I made the same promise not to let it die.
